Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

The exhibition is open to all Chatham-Kent artists aged 18 and older. All media accepted. Employees, representatives, and agents of the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, its affiliated companies, their immediate families, and anyone otherwise connected with this contest shall not be eligible to win this contest. Only one entry can be made per person. Please note, we are not able to accommodate permanent art or installation and artists must have the ability to transport their piece at the end of the event. All works must be original and completed within the three hours. Artists to supply their own materials and setup. ARTspace is able to provide some easels and will be assigned on a first come basis.

Jurying

Artwork will be juried throughout the creative process via QR codes and will be provided to each artist during check-in. All Crowfest participants/visitors are eligible to vote.

Administrative Fee

Free. There is no administrative fee to be a participating artist. No purchase or participation commitment is necessary to enter this contest.

Hanging

The eight winning artists will have their works displayed in the ARTspace window from September 20 – November 16.

Sales

ARTspace will not conduct any sales of the work created at ARTlive.

Liability and Insurance

Artists are responsible for their own liability insurance. By entering the contest, participants agree to release and hold harmless the Municipality, its elected officials and employees from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the contest. Artists shall retain ownership of their work but by entering the competition, participants grant the organizers a non-exclusive, world-wide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, publish, and display the submitted artwork for promotional and marketing purposes related to the contest, online exhibition, and future contests/exhibitions only.

The Municipality reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend any portion of this contest for any reason whatsoever without liability to any entrants for costs incurred in respect of the contest.

By entering the contest, each entrant is deemed to have accepted these rules and regulations, which are subject to change without notice, and automatically releases the Municipality of Chatham-Kent from any and all liability arising in connection with the contest, including, without limitation, the selection of winners and administration of the contest.

MFIPPA

By entering the Contest, entrants agree to our use, collection and disclosure of personally identifiable information in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The information we collect is used to select a winner of the Contest and is not shared with or sold to other organizations except as otherwise required by law.

Awards

A total of $2000 will be presented: Eight awards - $250 each.

Schedule

August 28 – September 18

Participants can register online at www.tagartspace.com. Any entries received after Wednesday September 18th at midnight will not be eligible to participate in the contest. Every entrant must provide their email address and/or telephone number for the sole purpose of contacting the winners. If an email address/telephone number is not provided, the entrant is opting out of being contacted if they are the winner, and will not be contacted to obtain the prize.

September 21

Crowfest, ARTlive event. Artists check-in at ARTspace at 2:00pm and begin working by 3:00pm. Winners will be announced at 6:00pm at ARTspace. If your entry has been selected as eligible to win a prize, you will be notified by either email or phone as well. Up to three (3) attempts will be made to contact a potential winner’s email or phone number as submitted on the contest entry form. If an entrant cannot be contacted within three (3) days, he/she is no longer eligible to win a prize in this contest. No communication will be entered into except with the selected entrants.

September 21 – November 16

Winning works to be on display in ARTspace window. The area for display is limited, and as such the Municipality does not guarantee that selected artwork will be included in the display, and further does not guarantee that artwork displayed will remain on display for any specified period of time.

November 16

Artists to pickup work between 12pm – 5pm. ARTspace will not be responsible for any uncollected works after November 30, 2024.
