Mastering 17th Century Still Life Painting with Minke de Vogel

In this 6-week course create a still life study reminiscent of the 17th century Dutch Masters. Learn the basic techniques of oil painting, the important tricks used by these masters, and by the end of the course, take home your own masterpiece. Each week cover a key aspect of painting. Then work on an exercise, and finally, apply what you’ve learned to your own still life painting.

Do You Love Me Sam: Pottery Date Night

Inspired by the movie Ghost. Bring a date and try-out wheel throwing together! Following a brief demonstration on the potter's wheel, try for yourself. At the end of the night, select one piece to be glazed and fired. Allow 3 weeks for pottery to be completed.

Hand-building with Clay

Make your own tableware such as, mugs, plates, decorative vessels and /or sculpture —the possibilities are endless! Master the hand-building techniques of pinching, coiling, and slab rolling. Includes one sleeve of Cone 6 clay (22lbs) glazes, underglazes and firings. 8 sessions. Instructed by Jackie Dean-Couture.

Cyanotype Photography

Join analogue photographer Michael Garland to explore the dynamic process of cyanotype printing. This early photographic printing process was commonly used by architects and photographers and is recognized by its distinctive cyan-blue print. In this course participants will explore collage and other manipulations by painting a light sensitive mixture onto paper and creating beautiful images by layering negatives, interesting objects, plants or flowers.

Open Studio Pottery

If you are looking to develop your clay practice and would benefit from studio time and extra wheel time to refine your throwing skills, perhaps open studio is for you! There is no instructor for this class. One bag of clay, glazes and firing included.

Beginner Wheel Pottery

Learn the basics: centering, throwing cylinders and bowls, attaching handles and simple glazing. All you need to know to make your own pottery! Intermediate Wheel Pottery

Move beyond basic cylinders to creating a range of dynamic forms on the wheel. Develop your technical skills as you throw pots of your own design! Participants need basic wheel throwing skills. Spark Joy Online Art Series with Art Kit - Stamp Carving and Printing

Join Shelley and Bernie for this “crafty” art project with a few steps making it more fun! Creating a stamp involves a little drawing and a little carving. The materials used are butter soft vinyl and a linoleum cutting tool. By slowly carving away thin strips of the vinyl, your drawing emerges. Roll ink onto the vinyl block and print onto paper!
