Love is Love: Celebrate Pride 2022 ArtSpace Window Installation is complete and will be in the window for the remainder of the August. This years display has a small flock of 6 Flamingos (who doesn’t love flamingoes) all decked out in their pride colours and paraphernalia parading and celebrating in the window with a graffiti style backdrop of riots pride colours, with illustrations of celebration as well a protest posters. We must all remember that while Pride celebrations can be fun, we all have to be aware that Pride started as Protest and still is a Protest. The flamingos and the and the backdrop were created, built and painted by myself and local fellow Artist / Designer Crystal Couture. I couldn’t have done it all without her immense contribution. Mike Ondrovcik Artist / Designer ArtSpace Member I would like to dedicate this Pride window in Remembrance of a very special friend and OUT and Proud Ally, Sue Heatherington. She was there at the very start of CK PRIDE ASSOCIATION and supported the fight in many ways. As a health nurse in the Lambton Kent High Schools she helped many teenagers in numerous ways. Last year Sue lost her fight with cancer. She will always be remembered.
