The Thames Art Gallery is pleased to announce Winter ARTcrawl, on January 31, 2025, from 6:00 – 9:00 pm, this free beloved event spans four venues, five art exhibitions, live music and many tasty treats.

6:00 pm ARTspace, located at 165 King St. W

At 6:00 pm, we will be kicking off the start of Winter ARTcrawl at ARTspace for the opening reception of Chatham-Kent artist Lorie Thibault’s exhibition I Wander to Wonder which showcases Thibault’s distinctive style of black and white ink drawings of buildings and places. Also, on display is Collected Works: A Sense of Place Hortense Gordon, which presents four paintings from the Thames Art Gallery’s Permanent Collection of celebrated Canadian artist Hortense Gordon. Explore the artwork of 43 ARTspace Exhibiting Artists, while mingling and enjoying winter themed hors d’oeuvers.

7:00 pm Art and Heirloom Shoppe, located at 137 King St. W

At 7:00 pm, we will travel as a group a few storefronts down West to Art and Heirloom Shoppe, to explore the artwork of 60 southwestern artists and a lucky visitor will win a $50.00 gift certificate for Art and Heirloom Shoppe.

7:30 pm Crow City Coffee, located at 128 William St. N

At 7:30 pm we will continue down King Street West to Crow City Coffee, where Chatham-Kent Artist Laurie Langford’s exhibition of collage artworks Off the Wall is on display with a hot beverage and more tasty treats for you to enjoy.  

8:00 pm Thames Art Gallery, located at 75 William St. N

At 8:00 pm, be sure to be at the Thames Art Gallery where we will be celebrating the opening reception of three exhibitions, with artists in attendance, live music by BREN, winter themed hors d’oeuvers and a specialty cocktail.

Ariel Williams a Walpole Island First Nation; Bkejwanong Territory artists’ exhibition Part One breaks away from traditional conceptions of Indigenous art with bold, monochromatic explorations of the landscape of the American West in a fusion of memory and possibility that aims to challenge and reframe narratives around Indigenous existence.

Malik McKoy’s exhibition Speed Run uses augmented virtual reality through your cell phone camera to transport you light-years away into outer space where you discover a lifeform latched onto a spacecraft in an effort to not be sucked into a blackhole.

Breakthrough PLUS presented by FUSION: The Ontario Clay and Glass Association is a unique exhibition dedicated to exploring memory and the powerful connection between art and personal recollections. Showcasing artists across career stages, and delves into the theme of memory, inviting viewers to reflect on how it shapes and inspires artistic expression.
