ARTspace: 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm. 165 1/2 King St. W.

Join us as we celebrate the work of local artist Francois Grenier. A finalist for the prestigious Winnifred Shantz Award for Ceramics, Francois will be presenting his exhibition Trimorphism, a new body of work fresh from the kiln! Grenier’s inventive low-fire oxidation techniques have catapulted him into the spotlight across the province.

Join Art and Heirloom Shoppe to view live art making by local CK artist Ron Vermeiren and Louise Carbonneau Vermeiren!

Vicki McFarland: 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm 75 William St. N

Join Vicki McFarland at the Cultural Centre for a live painting performance set to music. Vicki is an award-winning artist from Chatham Kent, with work in galleries and private collections around the world.  Her large-scale work is known for its bright palette and ability to draw an emotional response from the viewer. This demo will feature the support of Chatham Phoenix Cheer, so don’t miss out!

Stop by the CK Museum and discover the secrets of soil science and conservation while exploring the CK Museum new traveling exhibit Soil Superheroes from the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum.

Chat with staff and learn about some agricultural related artifacts and enjoy delicious treats inspired by the exhibit from the William Street Café.

Soil Superheroes is on display from May 17 – September 10, 2023. Soil Superheroes is a travelling exhibition from Canadian Agriculture and Food Museum.

Thames Art Gallery 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm 75 William St. N

In the main gallery space London, Ontario-based artist Kim Neudorf’s exhibition of recent work, the signs appear as in aspic, presents complex and visually captivating paintings. Neudorf has influenced a generation of emerging artists.  With this workNeudorf explores horror-adjacent, cinematic imagery reimagined as transgressive access to queer and trans embodiment through processes of collage and painting.

In the Mezzanine gallery Mind Field, contains the work of four artists organized by CK’s own Andrea Vuletin. Together, Leslie McInally, Darlene Pratt, Dushka Vujovic and Vuletin developed a camaraderie that crystalized through the pandemic. Each artist found opportunity to support each other and break new artistic ground while doing so.  

Deep Southwest: Studio One 9:00 pm – 10:00 pm 75 William St. N

CK’s own Deep Southwest performs at the Cultural Centre in Studio One. Deep Southwest features the creative husband-and-wife duo of Megan and Pat Whalen, who have delighted crowds across North America. They perform a mix of classic country, Canadiana and upbeat acoustic favourites. The event begins at 9 but put on your dancing boots and see where the evening takes you!
