A look at Raku Ceramic Artist, Melvyn Malkin, interviewed and documented in his studio(s). The video progresses through Malkin's process from construction and bisque firing to glazing and reduction firing. Malkin talks about his prairie landscape inspired work and the technical development of his unique glazing and reduction firing techniques.
Anna Malkin is an independent video producer, director and editor. She is also an instructor of editing and media software (Mac), an independent film and video maker, and an aspiring animator. Despite her precision technical abilities and uber nerd organizational skills, she is an artist first and her editing craft has developed with an unconventional and inventive aesthetic in video-making. Anna started making film and video work at the Ontario College of Art in the late 80s (AOCA 1990). In the 90s she relearned everything she knew about analog audio and video in order to edit in a digital format. In addition to producing a number of her own videos and film she has worked in the film industry in Toronto for over a decade IMDB Credit List.
